"A lie’s true power cannot be accurately measured by the number of people who believe its deception when it is told, it must be measured by the number of people who will go out after hearing it trying to convince others of its truth.” -- Dennis Sharpe
I am invested in Toyota. I drive them, I own them.
They aren’t in the top 2 worldwide automaker list by accident. They use all the tricks in the book, including recalls as a form of (free) advertising. This may be a fake story. Look at the numerology. 7 and 44 (multiple of 11, a master number) are signatures.
The story is full of conditionals. There are no actual cases, and no solutions. autoweek.com/article/recalls/t…
My Toyota has been recalled many times. Each time the fix is the cheapest of parts, taking little time. Since I avoid the dealer at all costs, this is an excellent time to upsell overpriced service. Nothing gets people back to overpricedum like a recall.
Gray propaganda is information that’s really on the other end of the spectrum. It’s propaganda that might seem like it’s presenting legitimate arguments that don’t have any sort of agenda behind them, but the origins of the information (or even the names of the groups releasing it) are almost never properly sourced. A source might be noted occasionally, but it’s often ultimately untrue
So it’s Turkey Day in the US of A. Which means many of us will be spending a lot of time today and the next few weeks with family and friends. Some of us might even be brave enough to bring up some conspiracy topic: 9/11, sports, secret celebrity twins. Inevitably we will be dismissed. So I’m posting this to jump start a conversation about effective ways to talk about conspiracies with friends and family.
Please send your heartfelt condolences to Simon in a comment here. Simon gave many of us peace of mind at fakeologist, so it’s only fitting we return the favor in his time of grief.
My dear old mother passed away this morning – due to heart failure. I normally wouldn’t share too many personal matters on the forum, but since a number of you have had the good fortune to meet my lovely mom, I feel it’s ok to let you all know of her passing.
