About shadows: Google earth is itself a giant composite of digital and terrestrial images taken at many different times of day so one would expect shadow incongruities.

About composite images on google earth: having thouroughly examined several sections of google earth over time, such as Japan before and after the tsunami, and such as many United States airports, and such as Connecticut around Sandy Hook, and such as Turkey in the Goebekli Tepe region and many many other ancient sites, I can say with certainty that layering of composites is a thing google earth does ALL OVER THE GLOBE, not just Mine sites.
