From 36:30-36:55. This is the sort of thing I was getting at in the last two paragraphs of my comment to Sharky and Gaia in this thread. The deterrence of the actual by the virtual. I think this may be how the idea of fakery and simulation is “sold” to the participants. And this not only goes for simulated war but also fake terrorist attacks, shootings and even things like the #MeToo movement. And this is a large part of the reason why no one talks. Because they believe they are involved in a noble effort to somehow deter real violence and other problems through their world stage shows and don’t want to ruin it. And I’m sure that for such important and noble efforts they believe they should also be compensated handsomely! I imagine this information is presented to them in a way that is overwhelmingly “illuminating,” making it an offer they really can’t refuse. Putting them in a special class of people who “really know what’s going on” and are doing something “for the greater good” of all the “poor souls” who don’t. Anyway, I’ll be replying to Gaia on that thread with some more ideas as soon as I can get to it.
