This one is my favorite, not only is it accurate about what a money pit the WTC was, and how unpopular it was but the last paragraph is the best part. The article was published April 6, 1977.
April 27, 2001. Larry Silverstein buys outdated buildings that according to the NYC Department of Buildings were tagged unsafe due to asbestos for 3.2 billion. This article is obviously greatly exaggerating the tenancy because if there were truly 40,000 people working there it’s amazing only a fraction of that number were said to have died. And notice the date the deal was supposed be final…sometime in September.
