The Lair of Bin Laden is a fictoid that originated in the highly-enterprising British press on November 27th, 2001.

Tonight I am re-watching Michael Moore‘s Fahrenheit 9/11 with my new 9/11 glasses (ok, they are almost one year old now). It’s amazing how much different a movie it is with a different perspective. I thought I’d post a graphic that was promoted for a while as Bin Laden’s bunker. Pretty impressive graphic I thought. Too bad it wasn’t even close to the being real..
In this case I am pretty sure MM is a huge propagandist working for the team, but he does get some good shots in at Bush. Some elements of the movie that may be true are some of the Iraqi dead that he shows in the film – and the images are gruesome.
As with everything Hollywood, however, I can hardly be sure of even that.
The interesting thing about researching media fakery is that so few real events are happening out there.
