Why do Spacex Starlink Satellites only work near the US border?

How can satellites so far up be only tuned to one country or very close to it?

Obviously because there are no satellites. We’re still dealing with long wave rf, likely from very high mast towers.

The Starlink satellite constellation now has 800 satellites in orbit and the company has now rolled out public beta testing accross the US and Canada. The “Better Than Nothing” public testing phase has now begun and Canadian users are starting to see beta testing invites. Users in the US now have the Starlink terminals, sold for US$499 (C$649), and a monthly fee of US$99 (C$129) per month. Total start up costs for a typical Canadian user are about C$800.

Why lie about the satellites? It’s because providing service to a low density area is expensive, and only something from outer space can justify an outer space price.

Here’s a similar service that had just one big mast that couldn’t penetrate Canada’s biggest city market 20 years ago.

The signals were then broadcast over the air from one of several transmission towers or base stations to a receiving antenna at subscribers’ homes or businesses

Update:

Here’s the likely technology used.

Fixed wireless.

Smashing Ontario while America relaxes

The controllers must figure Canadians are so complacent that they can smash them first into the first post nation UN state.

So far they are right.

Canadians continue to put normal life on hold, with the population most recently held hostage by Theresa Tam’s announcement that we must wait until 75 per cent of adults have received their first doses and 20 per cent have received their second doses of vaccines.
