Surprised to hear Lynn mention the Magus. I know the book by John Fowles – an amazing read for me, many years ago. Upon leaving the marines, he wrote, “I … began to hate what I was becoming in life—a British Establishment young hopeful. My teenage self thought the book was great. Perhaps the film (which I haven’t seen) was bound to fail. Still, if it presents the idea of faked reality, it is interesting from a fakeologist pov.
