A fix, never….
NemesisMemberNo doubt the fixing has been a part of sport esp when gambling has always run alongside mainstream and underground sporting events.
None of these sports will really suffer apart from a few ‘stars’ who have fallen from grace, just maybe with the corruption in sport becoming more apparent the future sports stars will have a shorter shelf life and not be given the chance to develop a sporting personality like in the past over decades, i.e Ali, George Best, Pele, etc.
Or is it another way of a slow acceptance of corruption in sport? probably wont stop people going to watch this stuff or buying the gear.
It’s all about Sponsorship and TV rights now anyway. There’s not many characters really left in a lot of sport now, esp not in Tennis, maybe a scandal is a Psy-Op in itself just to get a bit of interest back into it. As like in a lot of entertainment fields now a lot of the mystique has been taken out of Rock Stars, Sportsmen, Actors, Comediennes, etc.
i.e Russell ‘Brand’, that’s what ‘Comedy’ has now become too, dire.
Remember this 🙂
NemesisMemberMmm, I don’t know. Certainly we can be clear that this has only come out because those that control the sport of tennis are happy for it to.
True Tom, but in recent months tennis has come under the spotlight for suspicions of Match-Fixing and doping, i reckon it’s the next sport to go down. Seems to be a meme of Top players in sport reaching the top only to come crashing down – OJ, Tyson, Tiger Woods, Lance Armstrong, Oscar Pistorius etc or is that part of the deal/script?
Whose next?

NemesisMemberHeadline – Toyota, U.S. clueless about how ISIS got hundreds of brand new pickup trucks
Date: October 2015Location: Syria/Iraq
The U.S. government can’t figure out how ISIS terrorists got their hands on hundreds of brand new Toyota pickup trucks, and the Japanese automaker is stumped, too.
Top U.S. counterterror officials probed the automaker about how the Islamic State acquired a fleet of new cars after souped-up Toyota pickups loaded with weapons and packed with fighters began appearing in its propaganda videos, ABC News reported.
“This is a question we’ve been asking our neighbors,” said Lukman Faily, the Iraqi Ambassador to the United States. “How could these brand new trucks — these four-wheel drives, hundreds of them — where are they coming from?”
NemesisMemberAnd further down in that article:
A Met spokesman said: “A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a laptop and remains in custody.”
hmmn…
NemesisMemberI searched for the term “sponsor a hoax”
Maybe that should’ve been “sponsor a PsyOp” 😉 Peekay was already onto that.
As they say there’s no such thing as bad publicity, remember the London riots and the repeated use of Blackberry messenger in the headlines.
London riots: how BlackBerry Messenger played a key roleHowever, the most powerful and up-to-the-minute rallying appears to have taken place on a more covert social network: BlackBerry Messenger (BBM).
Using BlackBerry handsets – the smartphone of choice for the majority (37%) of British teens, according to last week’s Ofcom study – BBM allows users to send one-to-many messages to their network of contacts, who are connected by “BBM PINs”. For many teens armed with a BlackBerry, BBM has replaced text messaging because it is free, instant and more part of a much larger community than regular SMS.

Date: December 2015

A man was lucky to escape with his life in Wednesday’s mass shooting at the San Bernadino Inland Regional Centre after his iPhone deflected a bullet that was aimed at his chest.
The shooting which was carried out by a Saudi Muslim couple, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, left 14 people dead and 21 others injured.
The man, 24-year-old Kevin Ortiz, was shot five times including two shots to the thigh and one each to the arm and shoulder.
However, he was lucky as the fifth bullet that would have snuffed the life out of him as he hid under a table – aimed at the chest – was deflected by his iPhone tucked into his shirt pocket.

Known only as Sylvestre, he said his head would have “exploded” had his mobile not taken the impact of a bullet.

He told iTele: “This is the cell phone that took the hit, its what saved me. Otherwise my head would have been blown to bits. NemesisMemberAs the new series of Twin Peaks is due new year, wouldn’t be surprised of seeing another Bowie cameo in there..
NemesisMemberYep probably Fritz went down the Rabbit hole or was ‘MK-Ultraed’, did enjoy some of his lectures though.
My first viewing of AJ was back after 9/11 and seeing some of his documentaries. The ‘Wake up or Waco’ was pretty good in a low-budget kind of way, before all the fear-mongering.
So do you think it’s the same AJ in his docs ‘America Destroyed by design'(1998) and ‘America Wake Up Or Waco’ (2000) ?
NemesisMemberYep indeed a Labyrinth.. (About to be re-made too)

NemesisMemberThe suicide scientist meme in the media seems to have appeared roughly the same time as the ‘mysterious’ banker deaths.
Here’s another scientist one from only yesterday:
Rohith Vemula, a second-year research scholar of science, technology and society studies department of University of Hyderabad, was found hanging from the ceiling of a room in New Research Scholars’ hostel on Sunday night.
“I always wanted to be a writer. A writer of science, like Carl Sagan. At last, this is the only letter I am getting to write,” his suicide note said.
‘If you, who is reading this letter can do anything for me, I have to get 7 months of my fellowship, one lakh and seventy five thousand rupees. Please see to it that my family is paid that. I have to give some 40 thousand to Ramji. He never asked them back. But please pay that to him from that.’
