And the Hunger Games is just a re-telling of ‘The Most Dangerous Game’ novel and the ‘Man against man’ (Conflict) archetype.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_%28narrative%29

It’s been made adapted into movies quite a few times, pretty good movies too..

    [1932] The Most Dangerous Game

    [1982] Turkey Shoot

    [1986] Avenging Force

    [1993] Hard Target

    [2000] Battle Royale

Check out this clown at the start of the news clip here. He gets his sound-bites in, by way of sounding like a paranoid half-wit.

Don’t you remember conspiracy clown Tom? 😛

Yeah the videos definitely look a bit suspect, also this one, some think its green screen..

I thought they had special people to deal with crime scene cleanup? Just let the business owner mess with a bloody crime scene? It would be interesting (if I was a local) to observe if the store gets all new merchandise, or if they don’t even bother as there’s no actual blood contamination.

Yeah exactly what i thought, business as usual then 🙄

Fair shout on Cheeki, but did you just want a striped blue shirt thread? Why not?
Haha! Anyway. It’s all interesting stuff 🙂

I have no idea where these things go 😎

    Now,
the hash tag I’m seeing loud and clear. Very good point.
I talked to that here on a thread Carol had started:

Good stuff, i would like to find out where the hash tag first appeared in the media, it was really pushed in the Boko Haram story.

And yeah it is moronic, get us used to another symbol, still it’s cheaper and quicker than making flyers, especially if you’ve got a charity to hawk..

Ah, you beat me to it Tom 😉 but i’m gonna go in a different direction –

We’re told from headlines he’s the ‘Son of’ a Hollywood producer…

But haven’t we heard of another ‘Son Of’ Before:

‘Son Of Sam’ – David Berkowitz who Killed 6 and wounded 7 in NY in 1967-77 and had a hatred towards women not unlike Elliot ….

“I will slaughter every single blonde s**t I see”

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2638049/7-dead-drive-shooting-near-UC-Santa-Barbara.html

‘Most of victims were brunettes or women with dark hair, causing women citywide to bleach their hair blonde’.

Hello from the Gutters of New York

Did you check out the orginal cluesforum thread on the Blue Striped shirts Tom?

Well it seems like a new meme has been created with all the twitter banners, but as with all the missing planes, people, etc we literally are just chasing ghosts..

I’ve often wondered the same thing Carole, though always thought what were taught in school was probably complete nonsense (Crap at maths too 😉 ) but it always seemed to have another deeper esoteric meaning.

Though where to begin to find out what it all meant just wouldn’t know where to begin.. Back to the Ancients would be a good place.

Thanks for the link, looks interesting

This was literally posted as I posted. Quirky synchronicity?
I post it as a contemporary snapshot of ‘history’

Maybe not Tom, maybe some visitors here might find it easier to copy some of posts on here and pass it off as ‘Journalism’ 😉

After all Banazir posted it in the chat on 20th May.

Anyway back to the post, yeah the whole thing looks a bit strange, this pic certainly looks a bit off too.

And well what do you know, there was another molasses spill a couple of years back in Hawaii – and of course as like the boston one the numbers are:

233,000 gallons of molasses spilled due to hole in pipe joining storage tanks to Matson ships

I think the initial incidents happened, though the stories are always conflicting, its the aftermath which seems have the same patterns..

Yeah Tom, there’s significant numbers all over these riots, that old footage is great too, seems nothing much has changed in the 40 years when it comes to racial tension, which leads to two other high-profile riots:

    Timeline

    Brixton Riots – April 10 to 11, 1981.

    L.A Riots – April 29 to May 4, 1992.

    Inciting Incidents:

Brixton – On the 10th April Michael Bailey, a young black man, was stabbed. As he ran for help, he was stopped by the police who later put him in a police car without seeking medical treatment. A number of young people gathered on the streets watching in disbelief and pushing past police officers to get Bailey to hospital. The repeated delays by the police in trying to seek medical attention for Bailey and the subsequent use of the ‘sus’ laws to stop and search hundreds of young black men the following day became the spark that would lead the community onto the streets of Brixton.

L.A – On the afternoon of April 29, 1992, a jury in Ventura County acquitted four LAPD officers of beating Rodney G. King. The incident, caught on amateur videotape, had sparked national debate about police brutality and racial injustice. The verdict stunned Los Angeles, where angry crowds gathered on street corners across the city. The flash point was a single intersection in South L.A., but it was a scene eerily repeated in many parts of the city in the hours that followed.

Yeah he sure does get everywhere! who along with another Stephen (Spielberg) have pretty much shaped our pop culture throughout the decades

Leads me back to one of his other movie-adaptions which is prob my fav, Salem’s Lot, directed by Tobe Hooper who of course did Texas Chainsaw, loosely based on Ed Gein, probably the first ‘Celebrity’ serial killer of his generation.

The school shootings seemed to follow on from the serial killer (Thriller) meme from the 60-80s in terms of home-grown local fear, perception management, etc.

Dave McGowan has done some very interesting stuff on this topic, esp his Programmed to Kill book..

What’s your take on the whole Serial Killer phenomenon of the 60-80s Tom? (May need another thread)

If your talking about Stephen King (Richard Bachman) looks like it’s gone full-circle here with the original post about school shootings…

Who apparently has pulled the book now 🙄
