DNA and inheritance

Unread post by SaiGirl »

It's a crap shoot or a spin of the roulette wheel.

The important concept to grasp here is the most basic one from mathematical proofs and formulating testable / provable hypotheses: NECESSARY but NOT sufficient.

Referenced in the above video, Castor Semenya, a WOMAN with XY chromosomes.....what bizarre creatures they are that are paraded before us on the world stage.

Caster Semenya and Violet Ledile Raseboya met in a restroom Caster Semenya and Violet Raseboya's first meeting went straight down the toilet - pun intended. The couple met in 2007 in a bathroom when doping officers escorted Semenya out. According to Buzz South Africa, Semenya's muscular and athletic build led to Violet mistaking her for a man.

The 37-year-old reportedly asked the officers what a man was doing in the women's restroom, and Semenya clapped back. The medium-distance runner told Violet she wasn't a man.

Violet had never dated a woman before Caster. She was in a relationship with a man when she first met Semenya in the bathroom. Raseboya finally realised her feelings for the athlete in 2010, three years after they met, and they have been together ever since. Caster Semenya and Violet Raseboya have a traditional ceremony and a white wedding Caster Semenya faced questions regarding her gender throughout her career. When it was revealed that she was dating a woman, their relationship came under scrutiny by trolls. However, it did not stop them from cementing their commitment and love through marriage.

ZAlebs reported Caster Semenya and Violet Raseboya welcomed their first child, a daughter named Oratile, on July 5, 2019. The birth of their child reignited debates about Caster's gender. Some believed Oratile was proof that Semenya was a man, while others suggested the athlete and her wife might have used alternative means to fall pregnant.

The Olympic gold medalist announced in 2021 that Violet was pregnant again, and they welcomed a second daughter, Oarabile, on July 14, 2021. The couple has not commented on how they fell pregnant, but both children use Semenya's surname, and they call both parents "mommy."

In 2010, the British magazine New Statesman included Semenya in its annual list of "50 People That Matter" for unintentionally instigating "an international and often ill-tempered debate on gender politics, feminism, and race, becoming an inspiration to gender campaigners around the world".[125]

In 2012, Semenya was awarded South African Sportswoman of the Year Award at the SA Sports Awards in Sun City. Semenya received the bronze Order of Ikhamanga on 27 April 2014, as part of Freedom Day festivities.[126]

Semenya married her long-term partner, Violet Raseboya, in December 2015 (traditional ceremony) and January 2017 (civil ceremony).[127][128][129] They have two daughters; one born in 2019 and another in 2022.[130][131]

In October 2016, the IAAF announced that Semenya was shortlisted for women's 2016 World Athlete of the Year.[132]

Semenya was named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2019.[133]

On 31 October 2023, Semenya's memoir, The Race to Be Myself, was published by #Merky Books (an imprint of Penguin Random House UK).
