Today, coincidentally ? on my mom's birthday we had the yearly home owners meeting.

Ours was organized in the most of absurd places
But the Stage (((they))) set for us
And the neighbors who started with the first proposal of the day
Set the stage for me to speak up.
After hearing and watching a PowerPoint presentation where the idea of having installed
electric car chargers
in our parking garage
us tucked at 10 minutes labyrinthal walking ! from the exit, freedom on the streets
which I discovered is SO huge
that it is bigger than the whole other space, including all apartments, Two Towers
combined !
I started by pointing out
"you mentioned "risks" in your presentation, but failed to mention the by far biggest RISK of this, I hope you're not so stupid to think here is a good idea (menos mal we were stationed in the farthest possible location from any emergency exit), and that is FIREs."
"you mentioned 10 people have electric cars, I believe it's more (out of 324 apartments and thus 648 parking places !! yes), but you put that risk on all others"
"I don't know if you have seen electric fires, but they are horrific
and require a different approach than regular fires"
I said "the only place this could be possible, is at the very entrance where the visitors park cause that's the only place the fire department CAN reach"
you presented some budget, but
"did you include installing a whole new sprinkler system to deal with electric fires?"
I had 2 minutes to speak, but was one of the only ones making it shorter than the given time, so walking back to Mrs. President handing in the mic I said
"I hope this shit never gets installed here"
I was speaker 5 out of 6 and then we voted
I cannot and will not, see below, claim that I made us vote
NO, we are NOT gonna vote about this topic in this meeting; in this year
but at least I made us vote MORE towards no.
Luckily the Colombian situation forced the presenters to be honest
there is NO benchmark for residential buildings in Bogotá for this idea.
and the conjuntos their intended providers said they installed them said we don't have that here
good start, believing scammers...
but in hindsight that makes total sense
cause every conjunto has someone like me
who thinks
and stands up
for that what is logical, reasonable, the way to follow
I mentioned legal responsibilities, are you gonna pay other car owners whose cars got burned cause of your electric car catching fire.
Those providing companies do NOT want any legal responsibility
because they KNOW the risk of charging cars (or phones) catching fire is too big
and far too costly to calculate into the equation
there is no legislation yet either
cause no ground
so stand yours
that's the lesson
