While media often captures our attention here, science offers an even more intriguing perspective on the simulacrum.

Theories are built upon theories in science, especially in the realm of theoretical physics. Unlike practical physics, theoretical physics lacks a tangible basis—it's a meta-theory with no means of empirical testing or proof, in the realm of the fantastical. Yet, within the field of physics, theoretical concepts are often regarded as more real and valuable than their practical counterparts.

Consider the theory that the moon is a big rock. We have no definitive way to test this, but because we can imagine it as a big rock, we believe we can visit and stand on it. This makes us susceptible to accepting certain narratives without question.

Take viruses, for instance. They are entities no one has ever directly seen. Many scientific theories rest on questionable or entirely absent physical assumptions.

Our minds are indeed filled with mirages: a rock moon where we imagine jumping in slow motion in a vacuum, fearsome viruses in our bodies, atoms and molecules, satellites orbiting the earth, dinosaurs roaming the earth millions of years ago, T-rexes eating massive birds, evil people committing genocides, and supersmart doctors solving all ailments.

These are the pinnacles of our society—a simulacrum.
