The Queen has triggered the Platinum Jubilee beacon lighting from Windsor Castle while Prince William represented her outside Buckingham Palace to see the principal beacon Tree of Trees light up.
They are one of the thousands of beacons that were lit across the UK and overseas to mark the monarch's 70 years on the throne.
Who knows what this bizarre witchcraft ritual is?

The symbol behind Prince Charles is the Prince of Wales arms, three white feathers, but yes I agree with the numbers. I think he likes playing on that.
