Kaczynski letter, 2013.07.26

Unread post by rolt »

I found one of the letters I received from TK and re-scanned it. The letter I sent him asked questions about energy, peak-oil, population reduction, and technological development in light of a potentially lower-energy future.

Good upload. Do you have more?
Ted may be said to be a genius, but it doesn't come out in this letter.
Did "his" new book ever come out?

short of time, can sign his name in cursive style but chooses to print his letters. Rather childish a hand in fact.... hmmm
Strange letter 't', like a Tau in Greek.

I have a couple other letters but I'll have to dig through some boxes to find them. Probably more of the same. If you didn't find much value from the first one, I doubt you'll find anything particularly interesting in the others either.

Fascinating.
I feel that a machine is writing the letters, they're so devoid of emotion. The cursive signature is amazingly consistent, while not exactly identical between letters, but still looks weird at the foot of the childish - yet grammatically perfect text: viz the comma after e.g., and so on.
The writer, and I think it's a copy clerk, occasionally forgets the "grave accent" dot on the "i" which characterises the signature.

If you're handwriting a letter and come to the end of the line with a large word, do you justify the word and then add the hypen to break the word to the next line?
Not that I've hand printed a letter in a long time, but I am almost certain I'd do a CR in my head and bring the entire word down to the next line.
A word processor would add the hyphen and subsequent CR but not a human.
TJK is a low level intelligence team replying to letters to Ted in the Xmas off season.
