The two pictures I know of where the towers look hollow as mentioned in the testimony link above. I'm not sure if it's a visual effect or really showing light passing through, though the sunlight does look like it's coming from behind the towers.

I've looked at this image a number of times, and today I see something I'd not noticed before. We are seeing the cranes on tall platforms through the tower structures, the rest is fresh air.

Inside the lobby, and an idea how it fits with the building layout.
