Signs and wonders.
Most of the people who work in the television departments are freemasons who are reminded to use signs and keep non masons wondering how they ever communicate in plain sight, well benny, you stumbled upon another usage of signs. I have no knowledge past the ignorant as to what they mean or what message or information they project (or to whom out in the field so to speak).
I guess with the advent of mobile phones and "tv on the go" number stations can take a back seat and more agents can watch for the signs just by watching TV (offering great cover and alibi), Im just thinking out loud.
