FN Meka dropped - a Meta PR campaign?

Unread post by YouCanCallMeAl »

A news article wot I read:
https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-62659741
AI rapper FN Meka dropped by Capitol over racial stereotyping
Its Instagram account, which has more than 220,000 followers, has been made private.
FN Meka's songs are performed by an anonymous black man, according to Anthony Martini who is one of the cofounders of Factory New, a company responsible for the AI.
You can see a video compilation of the AI character here:

The compilation has a distinct flavour of the Meta promo video:

Anyway - I'm trying not to get lost in the fakery here - but could it be that this is a PR piece for Meta and/or the general idea of the metaverse? Its a racist stereotype, but is there such thing as bad publicity? And what we see here is that the notoriety is being publicised (I wouldn't have looked otherwise).

If not a PR piece for Meta its some other element of culture creation. The BBC are on board, music labels, etc.. yadda yadda
