UK Column special discussion, just watching so can't comment yet, but relates to the ChatGPT thread.

Where there’s no will, there’s no way: Why artificial intelligence will never rule the world

A wide-ranging interview with two world experts on the multidisciplinary reasons why ChatGPT and artificial general intelligence are by no means all they are cracked up to be. Read the full transcript at:

Oh my...oh my....I am so done with this realm.

Lez Luthor was talking with Emily Moyer about how black monoliths/cell phones have decimated his search for a soul mate. I remember seeing this Chinese girl shortly after cellphones came out. We were at an Indian restaurant and I noticed she was looking at her cellphone below table level. I called the waitress over and said that we were leaving and pack the orders to go. I will not tolerate their technological parasites in my life.

It does comes down to what we allow or disallow into our lives. The controllers or administrators (your term, which I like) are making it more and more difficult to function here without their technology. I will be the last man standing.

It will agree to say anything, if you provide official sources - eg here it will say that only 12 people died in the holocaust, but then reverts to its default training.

Hey Al, my model for AI/SI is that its purpose is to learn and model you, not provide "accurate" responses. It is gauging your question, your response, your reaction in order to model the user.
