Was the Unabomber a method of introducing some futurist thinking into the MSM under cover of the newsworthy "bombing" and the "manifesto".

How did Kaczynski choose the recipients of his mailings [reminds me of those VHS tapes which used to come out of Afghanistan from "Osama bin Laden"....
A brief search found a couple of photos of his "victims".

David Gelernter, general polymath, preferring the gloved hand method

I'll look for photos of other 'victims of Ted' in due course.

Re: The Unabomber
I don't know anything about the Unabomber other than the name, and I was interested to see how many pictures there were of Charles Epstein's hand. I found two with him doing the glasses touching pose clearly taken seconds apart.
But more interestingly, I saw a thumbnail with text linking the Unabomber to Prince Philip, and I had to watch that. I've watched the first part and thought I'd upload to Faketube and add it here.

Re: The Unabomber
An amazing coincidence, but Mark Tokarski has just uploaded a post which includes an hour long youtube clip showing Unabomber ''victim" Gelernter in action, with gloved hand noticeable.

Surviving the Unabomber
by Arthur Plotnik
Great balls of [acrid] smoke! All the hallmarks of a mid-flight drill. He fashioned a bomb out of batteries, a barometer, and enough incendiary chemicals to convert me and my fellow passengers into a tropospheric ball of fire. He packed the bomb in a wooden box, which he then shipped airmail from a Chicago suburb.
It ended up as postal baggage on our flight out of O'Hare. We were bound for Washington National Airport (now Reagan National Airport). According to FBI reports, Kaczynski's home-made altimeter cued the ignition device at 34,500 feet. We should have all died.

There's a clip showin the "crime scene" at Vanderbilt University in 1982.[5/5]
The "victim" wasn't found for the revisit in 2018.
At about 1.00

Looks very nasty, not!
The "carefully chosen victim" of Ted was computer science department chair Patrick C. Fischer who had a lucky escape, allegedly, when the victim was his secretary Janet Smith, who allegedly suffered severe burns to hands and shrapnel wounds to body.

Re: The Unabomber
I can't resist a bit of prosthetics research. So when I was looking I only found two photos of Charles Epstein's hand, the one above and this one. Both taken at the same event, doing the old glasses touching signal.
But I found a third one that gives a better indication how the trick is pulled off.
We can see the back of the hand is built up and the middle section looks to continue up under his shirt sleeve, that would be to give the optical illusion that the wrist area is narrower. We can imagine therefore he is holding his hand in a fist, probably devil-horns, and the knuckles we see are fake and higher than reality hiding the first joint of the fingers. The index finger is likely the true length if he was pointing, but the other three fingers have false extensions to make it look like he's lost its tip. The little finger's top joint is likely fake.
I didn't just get that from this these pictures but also this video.

Re: The Unabomber
In this video, I'm of the opinion Charles Epstein is wearing finger extensions on his other hand so in comparison his fingers look shorter on his damaged hand. At the start, he has that paper in his good hand, here we can see his finger tips but I think they are fake. If you've ever watched a woman with long false nails, you can see he uses his fingers on that hand in the same way, hence he's not using the tips.
See what I mean about the little finger extension. First his good hand, and then in the bottom left corner of the second picture, his damaged hand.
The way his little finger is bent looks unnatural, but again, if you look at a woman wearing nail extensions it makes more sense.

Re: The Unabomber
Just for reference, there are few ways of achieving mutilated hands. The following all come from websites that deal with creating film prosthetics.
The main way is to build up a fake section of skin in front of the real part, then add the mutilation to it. I would suggest Charles Epstein has the little finger side of the palm built up to hide his two middle bent fingers. It's harder to spot than the back section, but this area of the hand seems overly thick if you look back on the closed-eyes photo.
For hand close-ups, they could use an entirely fake silicon hand moulded from the actual hand in the first instance. If movement is required it can be created as a glove over some sort of mechanical device.
When trying to date when this type of fakery was first in use the technology needed to create a lot of it is low grade requiring alchemical knowledge more than anything and no electricity, and even robotic type movement was previously achieve with pulley systems or air pumps. It is worth knowing latex was available in France from the mid-seventeen hundreds, note, before the French Revolution.
