Just came across this, so thought I'd start a reference thread.

8 February 1974: Americans end outer space marathon

Three US astronauts have returned safely to Earth after a record-breaking stay in space.

The men - Dr Edward Gibson, Lieutenant Colonel Gerald Carr and Lieutenant Colonel William Pogue - proved mankind can live in space for prolonged periods.

They spent 85 days in the American space station, Skylab, which orbits the Earth at a height of 270 miles.

It was Nasa's last manned space flight for this decade and the third and final mission to Skylab.

Skylab will now be abandoned as space junk and is expected to break up in the atmosphere in about 11 years.

After a five hour journey through space the astronauts splashed down, as planned, in the Pacific Ocean in spite of a leak in one of the two jets on their landing craft.

Dr Gibson emerged from the scorched Apollo capsule saying "I feel great".

Recovery period
The three men overcame many of the problems associated with living in space, such as weightlessness.

The astronauts experimented with new diets and exercise routines to counter the changes in muscle, blood and bone commonly experienced by space crews.

It will still take them several weeks to fully recover from their three month trip, but they were already re-gaining their sense of gravity on board the assault ship - New Orleans - that picked them up off San Diego.

The 20,000 photographs and 19 miles of sound recordings the astronauts brought back with them will take scientists and astronomers several years to analyse.

A joint US-Soviet mission early next year - the Apollo-Soyuz project - will mark the last use of the rocket technology that landed Apollo on the Moon and launched Skylab.

Nasa's first phase of extra-terrestrial adventure began 15 years ago and has so far cost millions of dollars.

The second chapter of space discovery will begin in the 1980s with a reusable shuttle.

The space shuttle's final launch

Unread post by rachel »

NASA's Final Space Shuttle Launch 10th Anniversary Replay

Ten years ago, Atlantis rose from the launch pad on a plume of fire and parted the high clouds on its way to the International Space Station and to its place in history. The 11:29 a.m. EDT liftoff on July 8, 2011, marked the last time a space shuttle would climb from Kennedy's seaside launch complex to soar toward the heavens.

The crew of four veteran astronauts aboard Atlantis -- Commander Chris Ferguson, Pilot Doug Hurley, and Mission Specialists Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim -- set off on the STS-135 mission to deliver a stockpile of supplies and parts to the space station.

I'm going to put up a series of gifs about different aspects of this video that I find interesting. It's the last space shuttle take off.

So first of all, there is two clips with birds. The fact that both pretty much have a cut where the bird flies into frame at the beginning of the cut and flies out the other side suggest they were purposely cut that way and used. Why would they do that when it does call into question the scale of what we are looking at as opposed to what we are meant to believe we are looking at?

And here's a couple of half-speed crops, I've let the second run on, because directly as the bird leaves frame, check out the dry-ice cloud that begins to fall under the space shuttle. This is clearly what creates the sideways smoke-clouds as the shuttle takes off. It is at about 13 seconds of the countdown, just before the engines "are lit".

Re: The space shuttle's final launch

The thing I didn't mention about the bird clips, we don't know how close they are to the space shuttle, so it's difficult to know for sure regarding scale. But while the second bird flies straight past with no deviation. suggesting it's not that close to the structure; the first one, I'm guessing an eagle, turns its wing as it passes the corner, suggesting it is close enough to pick up a changing thermal current and react in order to gain height.

I'm going to skip to the "smoke cloud" on takeoff. We can see it's designed in such a way not to obscure the shuttles light show. The still I have below shows the clouds front and back, the direction of the shuttle's mount changed at some point so it is each side for the final take off.

shuttle.JPG

We saw it being released around 13 seconds of the countdown, second bird gif, and it falling downwards, suggesting carbon-dioxide from dry-ice.

And this is where things get interesting, because NASA does kind of tell us what it is.

Top Gear NASA makes their own rain clouds from Hydrogen

NASA Tests RS-25 Flight Engine for Space Launch System

Jeremy tells us the cloud is made by a reaction between oxygen and hydrogen, thus the result, a cloud of water vapour that will come back down to earth in the form of rain. But going by the spectators in the second video, it doesn't appear to be as noisy as he claims. And let's compare with the shuttle's last take off.

And it kind of reminds me of contrails. It's one of those things, the people who think "chemtrails" ruin the weather, they are probably not wrong at all, but I do have my doubts about the chemical aspect.

Apollo 11 - Day 1 (Full Mission)

I noticed this, Kennedy's address at Rice University, 12th September 1962.

The visit kicks off on the 11th.

Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson, who served as the chairman of the National Aeronautics and Space Council, NASA Administrator James E. Webb, and other officials accompanied the President on his fact-finding tour. They arrived at their first stop, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama, on the morning of Sept. 11. Director Wernher von Braun, who designed the Jupiter rocket that launched the first U.S. satellite Explorer 1 in January 1958 as well as the Saturn family of rockets, greeted them at the Redstone Arsenal Airfield. After a brief visit to the U.S. Army Missile Command at the Redstone Arsenal, co-located with MSFC, the President observed a 30-second static test firing of the first stage of the SA-4 Saturn I rocket, at the time the most powerful booster in the world. Apparently, the test firing made a great impression on the President. Director von Braun then took the President to see a fully assembled Saturn I rocket, explaining how the Saturn V rocket to take astronauts to the Moon would be significantly larger and more powerful.

That's 39 years before 911...and If 36 can mean 666, then 39 can mean 999.
We see what the picture above is of, a cloud maker...

That SEPTEMBER 11, 1962 picture of JFK apparently observing the test firing of a SATURN I reminds me of something else with that yellow smoke.

Notre-Dame fire
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notre-Dame_fire
sxpra.jpg

On 15 April 2019, just before 18:20 CEST, a structural fire broke out in the roof space of Notre-Dame de Paris, a medieval Catholic cathedral in Paris, France. By the time the fire was extinguished, the cathedral's spire had collapsed, most of its roof had been destroyed, and its upper walls were severely damaged. Extensive damage to the interior was prevented by its vaulted stone ceiling, which largely contained the burning roof as it collapsed. Many works of art and religious relics were moved to safety early in the emergency, but others suffered smoke damage, and some of the exterior art was damaged or destroyed. The cathedral's altar, two pipe organs, and three 13th-century rose windows suffered little or no damage. Three emergency workers were injured. The fire contaminated the site and nearby areas of the city with toxic dust and lead. The cathedral did not hold a Christmas Mass in 2019 due to the fire, the first time since 1803 that a Mass had not been held.

On 17 April 2019 French president Emmanuel Macron set a five year deadline to restore the cathedral. By September 2021 donors had contributed over €840 million to the rebuilding effort. The cathedral is expected to reopen in December 2024, although it may take 10 to 40 years to completely restore. As of 2020, investigators believed "the fire to have been started by either a cigarette or a short circuit in the electrical system".

Looks like someone stole the items that were allegedly destroyed by the alleged fire. The other items taken will be in Rome, no doubt.

The steeple that allegedly fell clearly CGI, and on a layer above that of the yellow smoke.

I mentioned it looked the same colour as a class of army smoke bombs.

And of course, it means you can add a hydrogen filled(?) space shuttle on the rack and produce these stunning visuals.

shuttle.jpg

Might as well mention it since I have brought up the topic of Notre-Dame. There was one fire engine spraying mist, but interestingly, none of that mist actually gets to the fire. It's almost like it's all fake, and the people performing the stunt don't want to risk water damage by putting out a fake fire with real water, so they therefore opt to put out the fake fire with fake water.

See how nothing is actually getting wet...

Jonathan Switcher (Andrew McCarthy), an unemployed artist, finds a job as an assistant window dresser for a department store. When Jonathan happens upon a beautiful mannequin he previously designed, she springs to life and introduces herself as Emmy (Kim Cattrall), an Egyptian under an ancient spell. Despite interference from the store's devious manager (James Spader), Jonathan and his mannequin fall in love while creating eye-catching window displays to keep the struggling store in business
i will add the muppets that i deal with in fakeologist are not as impressive as the mediocre security guard in this film
