The serial killer concept is a perfect vehicle for psyOp delivery. It scares the tar out of most people, and allows horror writers to run wild with their anti-human stories.

There is so much in the latter case the lends itself to being a completely fabricated event. I remember how so many elements of the case didn’t make sense back in the day, similar to the 9/11 hoax.
